What should I do if my credit card is declined or the credit card transaction has errors?

If you receive an email from us notifying you that your credit card has been declined, it could be for a number of different reasons.

  • Insufficient Funds
  • Expired Credit Card
  • Address/CVV2 Mismatch
  • Financial Institution Hold

First, we recommend that you login to the GeekStorage Portal and verify that your contact and credit card details are correct and match with what is on file with your credit card provider.

Reviewing Contact Information

  • To view your contact details, click on the Account tab.
  • Review your Contact Information. Any changes made to your contact information will be effective immediately.
  • If you need to change your Contact Information, select Modify.

Reviewing Credit Card Information

  • To view your credit card(s) on file, select the Account tab.
  • Next, select  Payment Method.
  • Review your the expiration date on your credit card(s).
  • If you need to add a new credit card, scroll down to Add New Credit Card and complete the form. If you are needing to update your credit card's expiration date, you will need to add the credit card again with the new expiration date.
  • You can change your primary credit card by selecting Make Primary next to the desired credit card.

After you have reviewed your details and you still believe your credit card is declining in error, we advise you to contact your credit card company or associated bank to see if the transaction has been declined for another reason.

If you have received an email from our billing system that indicates a processing error (timeout, transmission error, etc.) you should wait until our billing system attempts to charge your card again within 24 hours. Often these error messages are temporary and generated by credit card network issues. You can also contact our Billing Geeks directly to request we retry the transaction attempt.

If you are unable to pay via credit card, we recommend instead paying via PayPal, company check, money order or purchase order.
